History - Papas

Original Papas
Original Papas

Sitting on his small fishing boat anchored just off the South East coast of Cyprus, Papa Adamos a priest from a small local village indulged in his great passion for catching fish for the family table.

His sons who farmed the family lands produced the finest potatoes and blending these two ingredients together you will see that the Papas brothers had Fish & Chips in their blood. It was only natural that upon their arrival in the UK they were drawn to their local Fish & Chips shop to enjoy the delights of the UK’s delicious traditional food, which in turn led to them opening their first Fish and Chips Restaurant in 1966.
